Robin Oake, a retired London policeman, just released a book entailing his life experiences as a policeman and a Christian. In the book, Gilbert Was Wrong, he tells the story of the dangers of police work and how his pocket Bible kept him safe.
He always kept his trusty pocket Bible in his left breast pocket. He claims that it protected his body from serious injury in numerous attacks including:
- Being punched
- Hit with a scaffolding bar
- And being stabbed with a chisel
I wonder if it would have deflects bullets? I should have never thrown away that Gideon Bible I was handed in college.
