I’m married (to a Christian woman) with two young children.

What reason would I have to oppose gay marriage? Who cares? How does it possibly affect my life? Let them live as they choose. The only law they are breaking is the one written in ancient texts by men that burned “witches” at the stake and stoned rape victims to death for not screaming loud enough for help.

This is where atheism loses all its credibility. Why tie your non-belief system up in butt defilement of the same sex? I’ve not yet found one atheist who is against fag marriage online, but I haven’t really been looking all that hard. Is this why you become atheists rather than just Deists when you reject Christianity….because you want to defile another man’s butt or have yours defiled?

According to the facts, the Miss America Org does quite a bit to empower young women. Most of the contestants are college grads and are very active in local and world issues….and the swimsuit competition only counts for 15% of the overall score. Because a woman is beautiful and intelligent, she should have the freedom to express herself in many ways.

I agree that it is very good that money goes to help young women, but that doesn’t justify what the Miss America organization stands for. They perpetuate an objectified view of women from 75 years ago. It isn’t empowering women.

Casinos also fund many good projects in my state. That doesn’t mean I support what they stand for.

The Miss America Org funded $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance last year for young women. So chances are pretty good that your daughter, if she chooses to get a classroom education, will absorb some of that cash in her lifetime.
