Great motivation to be “green” from connect2earth.org. Very similar to the Gospel message.

HA!!! Oh BRAVO!!! Wow, all morning stops are bustin’ out with great video clips this morning! Did you guys send a memo around that I was not privy to?
Thanks for the laugh. And if you’ve got a second, check this out. GORGEOUS Iranian protest song…..made me laugh and cry before I even knew what they were saying.

Very funny video.
Cheap shot on the Gospel though. Not anything like it, as laid out in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8.

I agree and I don’t agree. I think God is a little- actually a lot- more complex than that. Yes he talks about the golden rule and the punishment of hell, but in all our suffering- wether as a result of a fallen world or as punishment for something we’ve done- there is a purpose. I don’t know a lot about Karma, but it seems to be a punishment that you get eventually for what you’ve done wrong. God makes meaning out of our suffering and uses it for good- whether we deserve it or not. Karma seems to be defined as something that is fair. God is not fair, he sacrificed his son for our sins, resulting in unfair disadvantage for Jesus, and unfair advantage for us.

ok so I have read a bit of your blogs and it does cause me to wonder what happened that has made you so cynical about God?
Funny but no one has ever asked me any of those statistic questions from your previous blog. Nor for that matter do I know of anyone who has ever been asked questions like that in a survey. So who is it that they are asking? I could ask a couple hundred people from my small town here in the mid west and I can assure you the statistics would be different. It kind of reminds me of Jay Leno when he would ask people questions on the street corner. Funny but I can’t remember any people answering intelligently. So can I therefore assume that all people are dumb? The same with statistics — it is only truly tells you what the people questioned think or know.
kswenor — I also think God is more complex that that.
